Just Good Wine
There's a clear need for featuring specific content on a website's main page. Visitors whose attention is not caught in the first 5 seconds leave the site, without further exploration. Therefore it is crucial for commercial sites to use modules, such as ddblock, to attract attention.
We started playing around with ddblock, and decided to modify chromatic-blue40l via css. Instructions given on this and other sites helped tremendously in identifying a few simple issues, such as the need to give global views permissions.
A very nice module, and an excellent addition to the Drupal community of users by Philip Blaauw.
Chatnium {kidzone}
This is the NEW Chatnium website. Its theme is complimented by the DDBlock. The original theme was too slow to load since the graphics were simply too much. The new theme is much faster. The entire background and all colors and graphics are contained in one single 12kb picture. This makes it incredible fast. The only thing that slows it is communication with the database. Here we can see the true effect of implementing the DDBlock on a "fast" site. I have found no side effects or issues by adding this module. Once more the support of the DDBlock team was a sincere contribution to the success of this site.
